EJC Attends Interfaith Worker Justice Annual Conference, Unity Revamped
Ray MacNair, Linda Lloyd, Glenda Colbert, Humberto Mandoza of the EJC attended the Interfaith Justice Worker Center Network fifteen year annual conference in Chicago. The group was there from Saturday June 18th until Tuesday June 21st. The conference was attended by 400 persons from different cultures and religious groups from all over the USA. The EJC folks were a part of the one day strike of Hyatt Regency employees in Chicago. The hotel chain refuses to sign a union worker contract that two other hotels have signed. The EJC folks are recommitted to worker rights including prevention of wage theft and job creation. In addition, the group believes that the present immigration reform state laws are inhumane and strikes against the core of democracy and what this country was founded on. The group salute, Kim Bobo, founder of the network.
